Original product description
This activated alumina is supplied as white spherical beads for adsorption and desiccant duties. The listed grades contain at least 93% Al₂O₃ and have a specific surface area of at least 300 m²/g, pore volume of at least 0.35, and static adsorption capacity of at least 17%.
Available particle-size grades are 1–2 mm, 2–4 mm, 3–5 mm, 4–6 mm, and 6–8 mm. The material is described for drying industrial gases, including hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, ethylene, and propylene, as well as organic liquids such as lubricating oil, transformer oil, ethanol, and benzene.
Other stated functions include fluoride removal from water, catalyst support, purification of selected exhaust gases, and regeneration of hydrogen-peroxide working solutions and oils. After adsorption saturation, the beads can be regenerated by heating at 175–315°C for repeated cyclic use.
Particle size can be selected according to equipment and duty. The 1–2 mm grade is identified for fluid drying, adsorption dryers, and medium-scale air-separation equipment. The 2–4 mm grade is listed for large compressors, power-plant gas drying, and systems requiring low pressure drop.
