The HIC-6 is a six-dot humidity indicator card designed to provide a visible indication of relative humidity inside sealed packaging. Each dot corresponds to a specified relative-humidity level and changes color as the humidity condition moves between dry and wet states.
The color response is reversible, allowing the indicated color to return as humidity decreases. This card is made from blotting paper and measures 105 × 37 mm.
Available indicator configurations include commonly used ranges such as 5-10-60%, 30-40-50%, and 10-60%, while the number and ratio of indicating dots can be customized. The documented six-dot cobalt-free option changes from brown or yellow in the dry state to azure in the wet state.
