This 13X APG molecular sieve is designed to remove CO2 and H2O from air before cryogenic separation. The supplied product information describes a nominal pore diameter of 10 angstroms, static H2O adsorption of at least 27%, and static CO2 adsorption of at least 18%.
It is available in spherical and pellet forms to accommodate different bed and handling requirements. Supported configurations include spheres in 1.7–2.5 mm and 3.0–5.0 mm diameter ranges, plus pellets with nominal diameters of 1.6 mm and 3.2 mm. The stated size ratio is at least 98% for all four configurations.
Depending on configuration, specified minimum bulk density ranges from 0.65 to 0.70 g/ml, while the maximum wear ratio is 0.20%. Reported minimum crushing strength is 35 N per piece for 1.7–2.5 mm spheres, 85 N per piece for 3.0–5.0 mm spheres, 30 N per piece for 1.6 mm pellets, and 45 N per piece for 3.2 mm pellets.
